Face mapping – Are you listening? Your breakout may be your body’s call for help

If only breakouts skedaddled the moment you hit the age of 20. Imagine – all those hours spent trying to master the art of camouflage could have been spent doing something you really loved.

Before you get too deep pondering let’s get stuck into “face mapping”. It is a Traditional Chinese Medicine practice and could hold the key for better skin. It may provide some inner clues as to what the root cause of your skin frustrations really are.

1. Forehead – Digestive System

Your body might be struggling to digest certain foods, you are not sleeping well, or could be completely stressed out.

Increasing good bacteria in your stomach or eating more alkaline foods are simple measures which could have big results. Getting your zen on with some meditation is a great way to switch off the old brain for a deep and peaceful slumber.

But it could also be your shampoo or conditioner clogging the pores on your forehead.

2. Brow line – Liver

What happened yesterday that made you reach for some deep fried comfort? Pimples in this area can be a sign of too much greasy food or too many big nights slurping back appletinis. Your liver needs some rest and TLC. Warm water with lemon or dandelion tea are great liver tonics and help flush out the toxins.

3. Cheeks – Respiratory

This is the problem zone for smokers, allergy suffers and city dwellers. Polluted air is the culprit so who needs a better excuse for a trip to the vineyards for some fresh air?

You may also want to look at how clean your mobile phone is, as it could have been the source of the bacteria infecting your pores.

Pimples in on your cheeks are also a sign of too much sugar. Time for an alkalising green smoothie!

4. Chin – Hormones

Pimples in the middle of the chin are linked to the small intestine so certain foods could again be the trigger.

Pimples around the jawline are usually linked to hormonal imbalances and stress.

Did face mapping give you any clues as to what may be causing those frustrating pimples?
